Without You
(1998)
Holding out a leathered hand,
Hitch a ride old girl.
Look into these ancient eyes, and know that you're my world.
Look back down a million years, Have I ever let you fall,
I've given my love, I've given my fears,
Ain't I givenn you it all?
It seems like only yesterday, I was off to be a man.
I wanted to make my father proud, So I hid my shaking hands,
And there I was all dressed to kill, Going off to win the war,
When the smile of a woman just stopped me dead, and I wanted to live much more.
Without you I never will tell you left from right,
And without you I never will hear my name night.
And I just don't think I ever could read the stars alone.
And without you I never will walk the same way home.
Someone told me long ago, of a deadly sin called pride. Well I was guilty as all hell that day, When you stood there as my bride.
And the wedding night so crystal clear, My God you looked sublime.
And I wish I moved the earth for you, But I got better over time.
Without you I never will tell you left from right,
And without you I never will hear my name night.
And I just don't think I ever could read the stars alone.
And without you I never will walk the same way home.
Holding out a leathered hand, Hitch a ride old girl.
Look into these ancient eyes, and know that you're my world.
Through all the ups and all the downs You kept us from the cold,
So please don't mind if I hold your hand, Because I think we're getting old.
Without you I never will tell you left from right,
And without you I never will hear my name night.
And I just don't think I ever could read the stars alone.
And without you I never will walk the same way home.

Songs From The Room
(1999)
Talking to you, watching you sleep.
This is not heaven, and nor should it be.
Tropical rains fall out of the sky,
If this is where south is, tell me please where am I.
And she sleeps through the rain,
And she sleeps through the rain.
With these songs from the room, she'll never be alone.
With these songs from the room, she'll never be alone.
To the good lord of white wine
Please can we stay.
Maybe not for a lifetime,
Till the end of the rain.
Raise my glass to the lifeblood
singing songs in my veins.
I swear I will spill none,
as long as your love remains.
And she sleeps through the rain...
With these songs from the room...

Virginia (1998)
Virginia says it's going to be all right,
as long as we lay with the winter,
She says that maybe I could stay with her the night,
as long as we lay with the winter.
She took my hand she was as cold as the night
As I tried to bring her some summer.
I said I will lay with you Virginia.
She laid me down and she looked at me,
she was shrouded in the coldest moon's silver.
She took my hand as she gave herself to me,
and her breast was as cold as the winter.
But her kisses were warm and in her eyes brewed the storm, Of a thousand and one days of rain.
I shivered in her shadow, from the moonlight in the window and dreamt of a summer in vain.
I said I believe in you, Virginia.
She lay broken on the bed, so I cradled her head,
and I never have felt so alone.
She looked with infinite eyes in search of grey skies, and winter crept in my bones.
And she whispered.
There's an honest breeze from the Southern seas
And it blows me a bright blue clear day
But the summer sun leaves my work undone
And I'm drowning in my mind's malaise.
And I, I miss you, Virginia
One night she came to me on a warm summer's eve, She lay naked 'neath the glorious sun.
I needed her so much but she wouldn't let me touch her, and I knew what had to be done.
And the winter plays a role in my coldest of souls,
As I recall the night I showed her the door.
And I just cannot believe that I asked her to leave,
I said Virgina, I can't deny the summer any more.
